My Heart Admidst COVID / Personal
The first week and a half of COVID affecting our country was full of anxiety, stress, and unknown. It seemed as if you couldn’t even stay up to date, dare I say planned even
Welcome Friends!
we’re so glad you’re here!
We are photographers & best friends that shoot classic, luxurious weddings in Annapolis, the Eastern Shore, and all over Maryland. You will find recent work, wedding planning tips, and personal reflections from our life in this space. Thanks for stopping by!
The first week and a half of COVID affecting our country was full of anxiety, stress, and unknown. It seemed as if you couldn’t even stay up to date, dare I say planned even
I spent a long time wondering why I couldn’t feel content with JUST being a stay-at-home mom or JUST being a full-time wedding photographer. I would see woman run businesses who were killing it with content, bookings, and networking and in the next scroll see mom’s who were fully engaged and interactive with their little’s at home. I was drawn to each in different ways, and I didn’t understand why. Like pick one or the other Kira!
Every once and awhile I break out my professional camera to use at home with my girls. Our bed is nice and large (number one marriage tip.. get a king sized bed!) and our master bedroom gets great natural light so I was inspired to snap some pictures of my girls messing around together. After I took a couple of them Callie wanted to take some too. She has really shown an interest in photography lately which of course makes me so proud!
I was determined to have Abby’s room be just as cute as Callie’s! I can only imagine how I would hear it down the road if not. With two girls two and a half years apart, we are going to attempt to tackle life as fairly as possible! Wish us luck 😉 We went with a flamingo theme for Abby’s room.
Well we are a little over a week from my due date with Baby Abby and I can HARDLY WAIT to finally meet my littlest bundle. I feel like I’ve been pregnant forever. It’s only been since April but since I literally hit all the seasons it’s felt really long 😀
We took our first family trip to Disney World with Callie (age 2.4) and I wanted to share some tips for making it an enjoyable experience for everyone involved! If you have never been to Disney World it can be quite overwhelming if you don’t plan and think ahead. There are 4 parks, they are each a decent size, and everything is spread out.. so it’s nice to know some things ahead of time.
Seeing your work in print– there is nothing like it! Such an adrenaline rush! We are so incredibly thankful to have Ali & Jon’s Chesapeake Bay Beach Club wedding featured in Whats Up? Weddings. This is their Fall/Winter 2017 issue and it’s full of so much goodness for brides-to-be!
There is no such thing as the perfect work/life balance or work/life balance in general. There I said it. Everyone take a deep breath with me. As I am on my wannabe superwoman recovery journey I have come to terms with the fact that I can’t fit everything I want and need to do in a day.
Behind the scenes posts are my favorite! It’s so fun to see creatives in action! I will admit.. I’m not the best at taking them.. I get so in the zone on wedding day I forget about everything else! Fortunately, I have some great seconds that snap some and I managed to snap a couple!
And just like that we have a one year old! We decided to keep her one year portraits simple. When I looked back on all the pictures from her first year of life (and yes there are a lot) the ones that mean the most to me are the ones that show the authentic moments.
