Mary and Tommy had the most epic Annapolis backyard wedding. You will see what I mean in a minute.
I have known Mary since Kindergarten. She and our friend, Bria, were my first friends when moving to Maryland from California. They both walked up to me when I was new to the school and asked if I wanted to be their friend. It was so stinkin’ sweet. We were friends all through elementary school and I spent countless hours swimming in Mary’s pool, having sleepovers, and doing girl scouts together.
I first met Tommy while shooting Mary’s brother’s wedding 3 years ago. He instantly made me feel at ease and he is quite the jokester. I felt like I knew him forever after only talking to him for a couple minutes. I saw Tommy a couple times at different friend’s weddings and I was counting down the days till he would finally be my groom!
Mary and Tommy are the most laid back couple I have ever worked with. We did minimal pictures because they just wanted to party and enjoy the time with their guests. I loved that!
They held their wedding on Mary’s late grandmother’s house which was incredibly special. They flowers were all from Costco and the reception area looked like a dinner straight out of the Parenthood set! Long, family style tables and dinner under the twinkle lights.
Since their wedding was on September 21st, the live band played that song and Mary made a show stopping entrance revealing her Rime Arodaky Patsy Jumpsuit! Incredible. The skirt that Mary wore over the jumpsuit for the ceremony, portraits, and first dances was custom made and featured buttons from her mother’s wedding dress.
Not only is this couple incredibly smart, kind, caring, loving, and inclusive, they are talented as well! Mary played guitar on the stage with the band while Tommy played the symbols and it was awesome!
I will forever be grateful I was the one to photograph this wedding day.. Annapolis backyard weddings are my absolute favorite!

Rings: Mary’s Ring: Natural black diamond was purchased separately (hard to find in America), then took the diamond and had a band designed. Tommy custom designed the gold band from Zachary’s.
Dress: Custom: Rime Arodaky piece and custom made skirt to go overtop (made by Brittany Boston at Something Old Something New Bridal). Mary designed the skirt and she used my moms wedding dress underneath for fill of the skirt.
