Literally I have a 3 year old photographer! Callie killed it using my professional camera.
Every once and awhile I break out my professional camera to use at home with my girls. Our bed is nice and large (number one marriage tip.. get a king sized bed!) and our master bedroom gets great natural light so I was inspired to snap some pictures of my girls messing around together.
After I took a couple of them Callie wanted to take some too. She has really shown an interest in photography lately which of course makes me so proud!
Well considering I have to hold a button that is separate from the shutter button to focus the camera to take a picture and I knew Cal would only be able to press the shutter button, I figured all of her pictures were going to be blurry. And most of them were.
But when I looked through them I was shocked! Her composition was so interesting! Now granted it is a 3 year olds perspective, but she taught me something that day in our master bedroom that I hope to carry into this years wedding season.
The greatest pictures do not have to be technically correct.
She broke so many “rules” in her photos.. crooked horizons, out of focus images, cut off body parts. But I was so interested in her images! It felt like I was in the room with my subjects which is what we strive to do as photographers.
Create art that will transport you back to that time in history.
I really hope I can take a note from Callie’s first session and shoot without abandon this year! I hope you enjoy looking at these images.. the start of my 3 years olds portfolio! The future of KNP I tell ya!
